Volunteer Recovery House Coordinator

Position Summary:

Strength In Peers is looking for a male Volunteer Recovery House Coordinator at an all-male Recovery House. This is an unpaid, live-in position with the responsibility of coordinating a small Recovery House with only 3 participants. The individual can have another job during the day, but must be at the house in the evenings and overnight. The individual will have a private, furnished room in the house and will not have any fees associated with residing in the house. Training as a Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS)with a path towards certification will be provided.

General Job Duties:

1. Be present in the Recovery House in the evenings and overnight.
2. Provide peer support to Recovery House participants and serve as a role model.
3. Enforce house rules as outlined in the Recovery House Manual.
4. Facilitate a weekly house meeting.
5. Communicate and collaborate with Strength In Peers staff regarding the needs of Recovery House participants.

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Identify as a person in active recovery from substance use cha I Ieng es with at least one-year of sobriety.
2. Believe that anyone can recover and thrive; support all recovery pathways.
3. Able to connect with others and inspire confidence, hope, and healing.
4. Experience in peer support and various recovery methods, a plus.
5. Background check required.
