Comprehensive Harm Reduction
Strength In Peers’ Comprehensive Harm Reduction Program provides services to protect the lives and health of people who are not ready or unable to stop using drug because we believe that EVERY life is valuable and ANYONE can recover.
Our Comprehensive Harm Reduction Program provides:
- Needle & Syringe Exchange
- Naloxone (Narcan) for Opiate Overdose
- Fentanyl and xylazine testing strips
- Rapid HIV and Hepatitis C testing
- Condoms
- Peer Recovery Support
- Referrals to Community Services
- Prevention Education
Services are available by appointment and during walk-in hours:
Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Our mobile Comprehensive Harm Reduction unit offers rural communities access to Naloxone for opiate overdose, clean needle and syringe exchange, Fentanyl test strips, prevention education, HIV and Hepatitis C testing, and recovery resources for individuals struggling with opiate addiction in Page, Shenandoah and Rockingham Counties.
Strength In Peers’ Comprehensive Harm Reduction Program (CHRP) is authorized by the Health Commissioner of Virginia pursuant to Virginia Code §32.1-45.4. Provisions under Virginia Code §32.1-45.4 protect participants from prosecution of drug paraphernalia for sterile and used needles and syringes obtained from our Comprehensive Harm Reduction Program. Participants receive unique identification cards stating that they are enrolled in our program.
