Your Generous Donation Supports Your Community.
Making a donation to Strength In Peers supports your local community and provides resources to those struggling with substance use, mental health, and trauma related challenges. We value your contribution and promise responsible handling of all donations we receive.
“Listen, I don’t have much savings after only 15 months in the community, but I know I have a lot more than most. So I am mailing in a small ($50) donation to Strength in Peers. I just wanted you to know that the donation is made in [Richard Jackson’s – one of our Peer Support Specialists] honor, for the assistance you offered me and the selfless work you continue to do every day. You are greatly appreciated, thank you.”

What Can I Donate?
Donate Money
Your financial contribution is applied to services, resources, supplies, workshops, and events in our community.
Stock Our Food Pantry
We partner with Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to provide food to participants in need. Your donation will help keep our shelved stocked. In addition to monetary donations, we accept food items that do not require refrigeration or preparation because so many of our participants are homeless.
Please consider dropping off the following types of food: Granola Bars, Apple Sauce, Peanut Butter, Crackers, Jerky, Canned Soups and Stews, and Canned Fruit.
Stuff a Backpack for Someone Who is Homeless
We give backpacks with essential supplies to individuals who are homeless to help them survive on the streets. We are looking for the following items for our Street Outreach Program:
Flashlights, Thermal Blankets, Winter Hats and Gloves, Socks, Ponchos, First Aid Supplies, Restaurant Gift Certificates, and Snacks.
Provide Fuel for our Mobile Comprehensive Harm Reduction Program
Our mobile Comprehensive Harm Reduction unit offers rural communities access to Naloxone for opiate overdose, clean needle and syringe exchange, Fentanyl test strips, prevention education, HIV and Hepatitis C testing, and recovery resources for individuals struggling with opiate addiction. With higher gas prices, we welcome your support to help offset fuel expenses for our van so that we can get to people that may not have transportation.
Household Supplies for Our Safe & Secure Respite Home
Safe & Secure is a respite home for people who are unhoused and need a safe place to recover from hospitalization. Your donation supports the purchase of essential items that include cleaning products, guest toiletries, office supplies for our on-site resource work-station, and staple food items such as rice, beans, and bread.
We Keep Your Donation In The Community.
When you donate to Strength In Peers, your donation goes directly back to the community you call home. Through our responsible management and your generous donation, we are able to help adults and area youth find the support to thrive in their lives and community. Our flexible recovery options empower our participants to find their path towards a healthier life in recovery. Contact a member of our team to make a donation today.
