Street Outreach

We started to hit the streets in November 2018 to lend peer support, ensure community resource connection, and to bring essential items to homeless families and individuals. We will be located in various locations where homeless individuals congregate in Harrisonburg, Rockingham, Shenandoah and Page.

The community has already been so generous with in-kind donations, that we have a majority of what we need for the backpacks that we will be supplying our participants with. However, we still need help obtaining the following items:

  • Flashlights
  • Thermal Blankets
  • Gloves
  • Socks
  • Ponchos
  • Restaurant Gift Certificates
  • Granola Bars, Packs of Crackers, Fruit Snacks
  • Monetary Donations, so we can purchase bus tickets to place in people’s backpacks, and for coffee and donuts for our outreach events

Jail Outreach

We have been offering peer support groups and reentry workshops in local jails since our organization started. We work in Page County Jail, Rockingham/Harrisonburg Regional Jail, and Middle River Regional Jail. We help individuals who are incarcerated make plans and connect to services that can help them transition to the community. We can also get people started with peer support and recovery services prior to release.

We Are Here To Serve Those In Need

If you are homeless, unstably housed, or recently released from incarceration, we encourage you to visit our Community Resource Center. Our peer support team can help you figure out your next steps and connect you to the right services based on what you want. Non-judgmental and respectful – we are here to serve you.
