Your Generous Donation Supports Your Community.

Making a donation to Strength In Peers supports your local community and provides resources to those struggling with substance use, mental health, and trauma related challenges. We value your contribution and promise responsible handling of all donations we receive.

“Listen, I don’t have much savings after only 15 months in the community, but I know I have a lot more than most. So I am mailing in a small ($50) donation to Strength in Peers. I just wanted you to know that the donation is made in [Richard Jackson’s – one of our Peer Support Specialists] honor, for the assistance you offered me and the selfless work you continue to do every day. You are greatly appreciated, thank you.”

What Can I Donate?

We partner with Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to provide food to participants in need. Your donation will help keep our shelved stocked. In addition to monetary donations, we accept food items that do not require refrigeration or preparation because so many of our participants are homeless.

Please consider dropping off the following types of food: Granola Bars, Apple Sauce, Peanut Butter, Crackers, Jerky, Canned Soups and Stews, and Canned Fruit.

Your financial contribution is applied to services, resources, supplies, workshops, and events in our community.

We give backpacks with essential supplies to individuals who are homeless to help them survive on the streets. We are looking for the following items for our Street Outreach Program:

Flashlights, Thermal Blankets, Winter Hats and Gloves, Socks, Ponchos, First Aid Supplies, Restaurant Gift Certificates, and Snacks.

Do you shop on Amazon? Use AmazonSmile and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to Strength In Peers.
