A Peer Recovery Specialist (PRS) uses his/her specialized training and lived experience, with mental health and/or substance use conditions, to assist others in discovering their own path to recovery. This Training Course:
is for those wanting to utilize their own journeys and experiences, with mental health and/or substance abuse, in order to aid others in their recovery.
will result in a certificate of completion.
requires ten (10) days of classroom training.
offers a certification for a growing field.

Who can participate
Residents of Shenandoah and Page Counties. Space is limited.
Participants must have personal/lived experience with mental health and/or substance use conditions.
Participants must be in recovery and have willingness to utilize their own journeys and experiences in order to aid others in their recovery.
Every Tuesday AND Wednesday in August, 9:00AM – 4:00PM.
Primary Venue: Shenandoah Fire and Rescue, 600 N. Main Street, Suite 109, Woodstock, VA 22664; August 1, 2, 8, 9, 22, 23, 29, 30
Training will take place at Comfort Inn, 1011 Motel Dr, Woodstock, VA 22664 on Tuesday, August 15, and Wednesday, August 16, 2017.
